博士、教授,博士生导师,动物生理学研究团队带头人,动物生理学省级精品课程负责人。中国动物学会动物生理生态学分会第一届委员,陕西省生理学会常务理事,陕西省动物学会副理事长。
1982年元月本科毕业于陕西师范大学生物系。
1989年硕士毕业于陕西师范大学生物系动物生理学专业。
2005年博士毕业于西安交通大学医学院生理学专业。
2006年-2007年在奥地利航天生理研究所从事博士后研究。
2013年应邀赴奥地利进行国际合作研究。
1992年至今一直在西北大学生命科学学院工作。

主要研究方向:动物生理学与中药药理学
长期从事动物生理学教学与研究。科研方面主要致力于达乌尔黄鼠冬眠期抗废用性肌萎缩机制的研究与抗废用性肌萎缩药物的研发。主持的《活血化瘀类与补益类药物在抗废用性肌萎缩中的应用研究》荣获2017年陕西省高等学校科学技术奖二等奖。主持过多项有关冬眠动物抗废用性肌萎缩机制研究的国家自然科学基金项目,在国内外具有重要影响,处于这一领域的国际领先水平。已发表90余篇学术论文,其中SCI收录论文40余篇, EI收录论文2篇。参编专著《中国国家级自然保护区》1部,教材《生理学》、《人体机能学》、《生理学全攻略》与《大学生理学》4本,其中“十一五”与“十二五”国家级规划教材2本。
